Finally

May 5th, 2008

Well, after struggling to get some hig res images of some works, I finally got 3 of them posted a few days ago. Two are graphite, and one is in pastel chalk pencils. My first attempt with that medium, so be kind! :) I have many things I would like to add, but with other responibilites that will take a little time. I also recently posted a graphite portrait of an adorable little boy with a football and dressed in his grandfather's oversized football jersey.

If you get a chance to check them I hope you'll leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Happy to be Here

April 3rd, 2008

I am new comer to Fine Art America, and so far I am enjoying my stay! I am primarily a graphite artist, and work to create realistic pieces. I offer commissioned pencil portraits on my website www.pencilsandpixelsart.com. However, until I get some good high quality pictures or scans of my original graphite works, I am having a great time showcasing my other interest - photography!

I began to enjoy photography in college. I studied graphic and multimedia design, and there were some required photography courses. They were a blast, and I learned a lot. Now I take photographs as a hobby. I like to capture really up close shots of common things, I think it makes you look at them in a whole new way and see details you didn't notice before. I also enojoy landscapes and nature shots. You'll find some great pics in my profilefrom a recent trip to Maui. These are untouched phtographs - it really is that pretty! Also, living in Florida offers some great oportunites for beautiful outdoor scenery.

I started out using a wonderful film camera, a Canon Eos Rebel. In the class, the Canon cameras far outclassd any other brand in color and clarity. A couple years ago I made the move to digital, and it is amazing how far digital photgraphy has come! I really think the clarity is better than film, and it sure makes for an easier time uploading to the web!

I hope you will enjoy seeing the examples of my photography, and keep on the look out for my graphite art that will be coming soon!
